The problem with routing hinge mortices is that you are always left with a mortice with rounded corners and most hinges have square ones. You could square them up with a chisel, but there is a good chance you could over cut or even not cut the corner straight. Eliminate the problem with this handy corner chisel.

Corner chisels are used for squaring up hinge recesses in door frames and lock recesses in doors. Featuring an L shaped blade, the corner chisel cuts a perfect 90 degree angle every time. Simply line up with the rounded corner of the mortice, tap the firing pin with a hammer and a true clean square edge is produced.
